For as long as I can remember we have been told we have to vote for the lesser of two evils. I have an elder who is about to bust a blood vessel literally screaming at me saying "Hillary is our savior, we will have more power with her. Others are bullying and saying remember the Nadar Effect? Why a Third Party now? A vote for Stein/Baraka is a vote for Trump. How can they win? All those points are valid except for one thing they are generated from FEAR! My answer is this the lesser of two evils have not stopped the police from killing Black and Latinos at random, in fact they have been suspiciously quiet. You know what that means silence gives consent. The lesser of two evils have not stopped the flow of drugs in our communities in fact it has gotten worse. The lesser of two evils have not stopped fracking and have yet to deal with the radioactive wastes that is in front of everyone's property. The lesser of two evils is not doing anything about climate change and have known the devastating effects since a "report was prepared by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in 1974, designated "Office of Political Research-401", attempts to assess the political and social implications of climatic change. The report notes that although there appear to be natural cycles of climatic change and the world appears to be entering a natural period of cooling,man-made industrial pollution in the atmosphere must now be regarded as a major contributing factor to the severity and rapidity of climate alteration. The CIA estimated that from twenty to thirty percent of all atmospheric dust is now man-made. This unnatural addition to atmospheric dust has two effects. The first is the enhancement of the "greenhouse effect" and contributes to warming the earth's surface. But the second and much greater effect is a reduction in the amount of sunlight which reaches the earth's surface. (this is what we are going through in 2016. This is why doctors have everyone taking VIt.D) The dust reflects more sunlight back into space. The net result of these two effects is a distinct cooling of the earth's surface and climatologists have already concluded that it is having an adverse and possibly irreversible, influence upon global weather patterns." Source (Iceman's Inheritance by Micheal Bradley). The report had been researched the early 70's, we are now in 2016 and listening to people deny science and all the reports. The Lesser of two evils have not did anything to stop the fracking which also causes sink holes and disrupts weather patterns. The Lesser of two evils have not improved on education or made it affordable. The lesser of two evils have not stop sending jobs out of this country nor have they stopped listening to the corporate pretenders to the throne who constantly are creating trade deals that devastate this country. The Lesser of two evils have not bridged the gap of income equality nor have they bridged the gap in racial inequality. The Lesser of two evils have not stopped the massive incarceration of Black and Brown people in this country. In fact they have put them on the stock market. The Lesser of two evils have not stopped creating bullshit wars in fact the congressmen and women are investing their own money in those wars and the defense contractors. The Lesser of two evils would rather invest in wars than in the education of our children. The Lesser of two evils have not protected our farmers who have fed this country for ages from agricultural giants who are genetically altering our foods and increasing the cancers in our respective communities, The Lesser of two evils has put a corporation that specializes in germ, biological and chemical warfare over our food supply. The Lesser of two evils fights against us when we asked for our foods to be labeled. We have a right to know what is in our foods, their answer was "the public is too stupid to understand what is in their foods." The lesser of two evils just passed a law that we the people who pay their salaries, did not have the right to know where our meats are coming from. The Lesser of two evils our PRESIDENT just signed the Dark Act-For Immediate Release: Wednesday, April 9, 2014
“More than 90 percent of Americans support labeling of GE foods,” said Scott Faber, senior vice-president of government affairs for EWG. “It’s clear the public wants to know what’s in their food, but if Rep. Pompeo has his way, no one will have that right.”
“Consumers, particularly the eight out of ten American families who buy organic products, want to know what is in their food," said Marni Karlin, director of legislative and legal affairs for Organic Trade Association. "Rep. Pompeo’s bill ignores this consumer demand for information. Instead, it ties the hands of state governments, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Food and Drug Administration concerning GMO labeling. It is fatally flawed."
“Rep. Pompeo is signing away the rights of all Americans to know what they are buying and feeding their families," said Colin O’Neil, director of government affairs for Center for Food Safety. "This bill is an attack on states’ ability to assure their citizens are informed.”
Pompeo’s bill – christened the “Deny Americans the Right-to-Know” or DARK act by critics – would prevent states from adopting GE labeling laws that have gained widespread support over the last two years. The proposal would also prevent states from making it illegal for food companies to label products that contain GE ingredients as “natural,” as Connecticut has already done.
Pompeo’s measure would also limit the authority of the federal Food and Drug Administration to compel companies to disclose GE ingredients. The bill is identical to a legislative proposal floated earlier this year by the food industry’s main trade and lobbying arm, the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
“If the DARK Act becomes law, a veil of secrecy will cloak ingredients, leaving consumers with no way to know what’s in their food,” said Faber. “Consumers in 64 countries, including Saudi Arabia and China, have the right to know if their food contains GMOs. Why shouldn’t Americans have the same right?”
Industry groups that stand to gain the most if the DARK Act becomes law have been some of Pompeo’s biggest campaign contributors. Since 1989, agribusiness has given him nearly $170,000, and the food and beverage industry more than $81,000, according to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics.
The top individual contributor to Pompeo’s campaign coffers has been Koch Industries Inc., at $238,900. The private company is run by billionaire brothers Charles and David H. Koch, who are known for their extensive support of conservative causes. (This is exactly why the people are saying no to the politicians and putting them out of office and this is why we need a Third Party, we need all new faces and people who are working for us. We need to say Yes to our new Third Party we have the numbers we just have to say yes take the chance and think about your future your family's future and the future of this EARTH our home. I don't know about you but I am tired of voting for the lesser of two evils and I refuse to continue the cycle. I am voting Jill not Hill 2016.)
In a 2011 legal petition, Center for Food Safety provided FDA with a blueprint for a federal labeling of genetically engineered foods. FDA has yet to formally respond to that petition, though the agency has received more than 1.4 million comments supporting the petition and mandatory labeling. Just two weeks ago, more than 200 companies and organizations sent a letter to President Obama asking him to fulfill his 2007 campaign promise to label foods made with genetically engineered ingredients.
On July 28, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 275 to 156 to approve the energy bill; on July 29, the US Senate voted 74 to 26 to approve it. And on August 8, 2005, President Bush signed the final bill into law.
Since 2001, energy corporations have showered federal politicians with $115 million in campaign contributions—with three-quarters of that amount going to Republicans. This cash helped secure energy companies and their lobbyists exclusive, private access to lawmakers, starting with Vice-President Dick Cheney’s Energy Task Force, whose report provided the foundation of the energy bill passed by Congress and signed by President Bush on August 8.
These congressmen and women voted twice in 2005 and again in 2009 that we the people had no right to clean water, we had no right to safe drinking water, no right to clean air, no right to liability or compensation and no superfund law. That law allowed these corporations specifically oil and gas companies to frack on public lands, destroy your water systems, your home environment, the stench and fumes from the chemicals are cancer causing and the doctors had to sign non-disclosure agreements so the doctors were barred from telling the people in my state Pennsylvania what the chemicals was doing to the water or to their bodies or their children's bodies. If a foreigner of color came to this country and poisoned Americans water and destroyed their water systems beyond usage they would be under the jail. They would bypass court and go straight to GITMO IN CUBA. But because these corporations are paying these politicians off
HARRISBURG, PA--The natural gas industry and related trade groups have now given nearly $8 million to Pennsylvania state candidates and political committees since 2000, according to new research by Common Cause Pennsylvania and Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania. Top recipients of industry money given between 2000 and April 2012 were Governor Tom Corbett (R) with $1,813,205.59, Senate President Joseph Scarnati (R-25) with $359,145.72, Rep. Dave Reed (R-62) with $137,532.33, House Majority Leader Rep. Mike Turzai (R-28) with $98,600, and Sen. Don White (R-41) with $94,150.
After reaching an all-time annual high of $1.6 million in 2010, the new study found that contributions declined to $560,800 in 2011. Lobbying expenditures surged during this same period, however, with $5 million being spent in 2011, an increase of $1 million from 2010. An additional $1.8 million was spent in the first three months of 2012, bringing the total since Q1 2007 to $15.7 million.
“The industry has largely had its way in Pennsylvania and has spent millions to put their friends in the state legislature and the Governor’s mansion,” said James Browning, Regional Director of State Operations for Common Cause. “The industry’s focus now is on protecting these investments and maintaining access to key elected officials.”
“Pennsylvania politicians sold gas companies the right to pollute Pennsylvania’s land, air, and water for bargain basement prices,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. “For their $23 million political investment, gas companies avoided hundreds of millions in taxes that could have paid for thousands of teachers, roads and desperately needed environmental protections.”
Pennsylvania continues to be one of just 11 states that fail to limit campaign contributions, and the state’s failure to require electronic filing of campaign finance reports has resulted in delays by the Pennsylvania Department of State in making these reports available on its website. According to Common Cause, less than half of the reports due to be filed by all candidates at the end of last March were available on the DOS website as of April 20, just four days before the April 24 primary.
The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA), the largest statewide, member-based sustainable farming organization in the United States, has just asserted publicly its position calling for a moratorium on unconventional gas extraction. After over a year of discussion, research, and thoughtful consideration among its members, PASA’s statement, issued Monday June 11th 2012, calls for a moratorium:
until it is determined that this practice will not impair the ability of farms to profitably produce healthy food while respecting Pennsylvania’s air quality, water resources and the natural environment.
Are you tired of our politicians not doing their job? Are you ready for a LIFE ALTERING CHANGE IN OUR POLITICAL REALITY? THEN vote Yes for the GREEN PARTY, we need people in office in every area including the judges.
We need people who want to serve and work for us in addition we NEED what the Green Party is giving us. PEOPLE WHO HAVE ETHICS, INTEGRITY, HONOR AND A SENSE OF JUST DOING THE RIGHT THING. AND THEY NEED TO BE PROTECTED. WE NEED TO TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS, NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT. I saw a sign on the side of a Septa Bus today,it said. the next president won't be elected. They know the Third Party could take it. Jill Stein has a very good chance of being the next president. THEY SEE THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL OUR CANDIDATES NEED TO BE PROTECTED BY US WHO HAVE A VESTED INTERESTS IN THEIR BEING PUT IN OFFICE.
The reason why old candidates do what they are told is because they are threatened with loss of life, that is what happened to Bernie and Obama which is why he sent that $34 billion Green Jobs Contract to China. This revolution is a war against the parallel government who have been in control since the presidency began they are not going to lay down and give up that is why they are going after the militias. This is why the UN Trucks are here, we are members of the Global Police and we will have to get out of that when we become a sovereign country again. DOES EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN GEORGE W BUSH MET WITH AND SIGNED AWAY OUR CONSTITUTION AND RIGHTS WHEN HE MADE AMERICA< MEXICO AND CANADA ONE COUNTRY? He signed that agreement in July of 2005. They cannot have Americans running around with guns to defend themselves. We need all those useless congressmen and women who vote against our interests at every turn and we need to reinstate all the laws that keep money out of politicians hands and if they take any money they lose their seat immediately, if they meet with lobbyists they are fired immediately. We need to cut off any organizations like ALEC and Club For Growth from having any contact what so ever with our politicians. WE need to overturn any legislation that allows Monsanto to use gmo's on US soil. They are banned around the world and we should join them. Those sacred cows in the supreme court need to go too.
I have digressed for the first time in my lifetime I do believe a THIRD PARTY can win because the timing it right. The people on both sides of the race have hands down refused to elect a candidate handed to us who is bought and paid for by wall street. For the first time in my life time I am seeing that no matter how the main street media tries to play mind games on us it is not working. It is as if everyone woke up out of a deep sleep and are finally saying no to conventional candidates. They want something radical like a genuine real person who actually gives a damn about what we the people really need and want. The people are seeing that the politicians in office really do not CARE and the ones they are giving us are incapable of feeling our pain nor do they WANT TOO. They are not addressing not one issue with depth they are just selling fear and thank God the majority of the people are not buying it. We all want RADICAL GOVERNANCE AND QUANTUM LEAPS IN UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE THAT BENEFITS OUR POCKETS AKA FREE HEALTH CARE. FREE EDUCATION, INCREASING SOCIAL SECURITY our elders have no business wondering how they are going to make it at 90 years old especially after helping to build this country. Everyone has a right to work and take care of their families. And everyone has a right to exist. We need a Third Party that speaks for us to get gmo's out of our foods along with that bovine growth hormone and that Epicyte Gene that is sterilizing every body. Can a Third party win yes it can
