As a person with disabilities we are entitled to the same rights as any other persons. Unfortunately in some situations discrimination and /or lack of accessibility can be major obstacles. There are many laws and resources available to people with disabilities with the purpose of diminishing these obstacles.
1. First you have to know what your right are and what state or federal agencies govern them. So if you have questions or your rights are being violated you will know who to contact.
2.Know what resources are available in your area. Many valuable resources go unutilized because many people don't know they exist.
3. Support, you are not alone. Being disable is very challenging and often the people closest to you just don't understand. It is vital to have a support system of people and organizations that understand your specific needs. Disabilities are as different as people are so it is important to connect with groups that specialize in you type of disability.
In this community we want to focus on providing resources and support for people with disabilities.By every means we have available or accessible. By share our stories and experiences to help others or find help.
I personally do not like the term Disabled because it means unable. We are able we just may have to find another way of doing things or need assistance.
